Introduction
After our Cress and symbols experiment we came across experiments which examined the influence of electrical fields on plants. We wanted to reproduce them by ourselves. The experiment started on the 5th of January 2011.
History
The first time ever the subject appeared in media was during a broadcast in 1988 in Swiss TV: Youtube - Der Urzeitcode Teil 1. Mutated May flowers, ferns and trouts were presented. This discovery was made by scientists of the chemistry company Ciba-Geigy. On the one hand harvest should have been raised massively, on the other hand archetypes of plants and animals should have been reformed. The plants and animals also were more robust.
But quickly did the enterprise discover that it was cutting off its nose to spite its face. More harvest without fertilizer and more robust plants without plant protection products? The procedure was patented and the research vanished.
In the book of the Der Urzeit-Code the subject is discussed extensively. There is also current research (of course only private ones, enterprises would have no profit).
Experiment set-up
We had no available high voltage generator, but a power pack which provided more than 37 volts. The distance between the capacitor plates was 2.5 cm and the field intensity about 15 volts. This electric tensions was 100 times lesser than in the experiments of Ciba-Geigy.
So the effect should only occur very light or not at all.
So we established three groups with 100 cress seeds each.
One group was exposed to the electrical field for 68 hours in a dry condition, one group the first 6 days during the up growth and one group without electrical field.

Results
A clear difference between the 3 groups could be seen in a direct comparison.

At the end the cress plants were cropped and counted.
While the number of sprouted plants was nearly the same, their height differed.
- The group which was exposed to the electrical field during the up growth grew most highly.
- The group which was exposed to the electrical field before the up growth grew most plane.
- The control group was in the middle.
| control group | 63 of 100 sprouted | 8 high | 55 normal |
| before the up growth | 72 of 100 sprouted | 13 high | 59 normal |
| during the up growth | 68 of 100 sprouted | 23 high | 45 normal |
Error analysis and conclusion
Also in this experiment other factors like water and light which could influence the growth of the plants were controlled very exactly. Furthermore it is known that electrical fields can influence the up growth of plants.
The more astounding is the statement, that electrical fields do not have an influence on human beings (subject e-smog).
A species mutation like in the experiments of Ciba-Geigy could not be seen. But we did not even nearly have the appropriate field intensity.
An interesting research field is to be seen. Unfortunately a generator for appropriate field intensity is missing.
